Goals

set standards for writing templates and documentation
create templates and documentation as required by the larger community
monitor templates and documentation created by non-members
maintain all templates and documentation as they are upgraded
oversee the organization, categorization and use of templates throughout the wiki

Scope

This project will cover all templates used in the wiki

Guidelines

All technical documentation about creating templates should be kept in Help:Templates.
Try to draw a happy medium between having:
- too many templates - difficult to maintain and standardize, difficult to find the right one to use.
- multipurpose templates - require a lot of parameters making them harder to use, and complex code.

Open tasks

NOTES:

Make sure you have read and understand Help:Templates. If unsure about anything, ask here before doing anything. Alterations to templates can affect the whole wiki.
You can use Special:Allpages to display everything in the Template: namespace.

Here are some tasks that you can do:

community

Add {{communitybox|Templates}} to all /doc pages to promote this community.
Audit all current templates:
- Check to see if the template is actually used, or may be used in the near future. If you are certain it is redundant flag it for deletion with {{delete}}.
- Create doc subpages for any templates that don't have them.
- Make sure all templates are categorised appropriately within Category:Templates
- Make sure all template documentation subpages are categorised as Category:Template documentation. Although not particularly useful in its own right, it prevents /doc subpages being listed in Special:Uncategorizedtemplates.
- Make sure all maintenance templates include code to place the page that uses them in an appropriate sub category of Category:Articles needing work
Discuss the use of the inline version of some maintenance templates, ie {{req-photo}}. Should this usage be expanded?
Discuss the use of a single maintenance template, rather than one for articles, and one for sections.
~~Templates in Category:WikiWood Metatemplates should be moved to Category:Metatemplates, and Category:WikiWood Metatemplates flagged for deletion.~~
When the problem with lost images is resolved, review {{ambox}} with a view to using it in place of tables in other templates. Discuss on the talk page here.
