Woodworking is the process of building, making or carving something using wood.

Types of woodworking

Woodworking can be broken down into many disciplines.

• Carpentry
• Finish Carpentry the process of creating and installing millwork & casework
• Intarsia creates pictures from woods of various colours that are sculpted to fit together.
• Joinery involves the construction of objects made from multiple pieces of wood fastened by various mechanical and/or glued joints.
• Marquetry creates pictures from veneers of various colours.
• Woodcarving uses chisels, gouges and knives to sculpt wood into decorative or artistic shapes.
• Woodturning is a process in which a piece of wood is spun on a lathe and shaped with gouges and chisels.
